An Alabama mother has been arrested in Miami International Airport after being caught on video throwing a computer monitor at an American Airlines gate attendant during an altercation, police say left the employee “roughed up.”
Camilia McMillie, 25, now faces charges of aggravated assault, criminal mischief and disorderly conduct following the incident that unfolded Tuesday after she lost track of her children, investigators said.
“She panicked,” a witness told WSVN. “That was what happened.”
The Miami-Dade Police Department said McMillie, of Birmingham, was travel to new york city and checked into his flight at gate D-39 after his reservation was changed due to missing his previous flight.

“While the subject was with the gate agent, his two minor children wandered off without notice to use nearby restrooms,” police said in a statement. “Once the subject noticed that the children were not with her, he became enraged and began yelling, demanding that the gate agent find her children.”

Investigators said McMillie then “removed the boarding pass reader from the wooden counter, damaging the equipment and counter area” and “while continuing to yell, grabbed the computer monitor and threw it at the gate agent, hitting her on the shoulder.” ”

Video captured by an eyewitness shows the gate attendant, wearing festive reindeer antlers, preparing to take cover as the monitor is thrown in his direction. Other images allegedly show McMillie dropping the electronics on the ground.
A police affidavit obtained by FOX Business said the american airlines The employee sustained a bruise to her right shoulder, while McMillie is believed to have caused more than $10,000 in damages.
Police also told FOX Business that the Florida Department of Children and Families is helping the McMillie children.
