Apple Music and Mercedes-Benz bring premium immersive spatial audio to drivers around the world
PARIS Apple and Mercedes-Benz today announced that Apple Music’s acclaimed Spatial Audio with support for Dolby Atmos is now available as a native experience in Mercedes-Benz vehicles for the first time, fulfilling a shared commitment to bringing customers around the world the best music. Apple Music with Spatial Audio experience is fully integrated through the MBUX infotainment system in Mercedes-Maybach, EQS and EQS SUV models, as well as in the EQE and S-Class, equipping these vehicles with a sound with studio quality better than in any concert hall. ., and giving drivers a fully immersive listening experience with unparalleled multi-dimensional sound and clarity.

Mercedes-Benz drivers who are already subscribed to Apple Music get immediate access to a growing selection of songs and albums available on Spatial Audio from some of the world’s biggest artists spanning every genre, including hip-hop, country, latin, pop, and classic. Apple Music also offers select Spatial Audio playlists like Driving on Spatial Audio and Hip-Hop on Spatial Audio, where listeners can find and discover songs from their favorite artists. Plus, subscribers can access Apple Music’s entire catalog of 100 million songs, thousands of editorially curated playlists, and daily picks from the world’s top music experts, including every artist and presenter streaming on Apple Music 1, Apple Music Hits and Apple Music Country Live Streaming Radio Stations Worldwide.
Virgil Abloh’s limited-edition Mercedes-Maybach, released to consumers last month, was one of the first cars in the world, and the first model in the Mercedes-Benz lineup, to feature this superior multidimensional soundscape powered by the Burmester high-end 4D sound system. The system includes 31 speakers, including six 3D speakers that deliver their sound from above, four near-ear speakers in the front seats, and an 18.5-liter subwoofer; eight sound transducers (two per seat); two amplifiers; and 1,750 watts of power. The technology will soon be implemented in other models.
