Three people have died in the Netherlands after a truck crashed into a neighborhood barbecue near Rotterdam.
“The cargo truck ran over a group of people while they were at a neighborhood barbecue,” the Rotterdam police said on their Twitter account. There are several dead and several more have been taken to hospital.
Police said they were investigating what caused the truck to go off the road in the town of Nieuw-Beijerland, just south of Rotterdam, and plunge over the side of a dike around 7 p.m.
The injured were attending a barbecue at the local ice club IJsclub in Kom, some 18 miles south of Rotterdam, when the truck skidded off the road in the Zuidzijdsedijk straits and crashed into the gathering.
