sports history It wasn’t in the best state at the time of release, but luckily, a few updates have been released since then. We are now on version 1.0.4 and while it includes the usual fixes and improvements, it also has another interesting change.

Access to the “secret development room” has now been blocked. If you haven’t seen it yet, is a section of the game where you enter a hidden area and can talk to the “game developers” about the development environment. Here are the full patch notes for Sports Story version 1.0.4:

  • If the squid boss disappears, it will return to the platform after reloading the game.
  • The Wildlands Birdie Medals task will be marked correctly if the medals are collected over multiple rounds.
  • Fixed some operations that required a certain amount of money to work.


  • Various fixes for places/events where the player could get stuck.
  • Club screens will display more than 5 clubs correctly.
  • Fixed an issue that can sometimes crash the player after throwing golf balls.
  • 30% coupon working correctly now.
  • Catching fish with the sticky hand will no longer cause problems.
  • Fixed swing bar when using PureStrike Green woods.

Sports Story received a surprise release last December, and while we didn’t mind it, it didn’t quite “live up” after such a long wait. Here’s a short snippet from our review:

“If you loved the original, Sports Story is likely to be a fun enough follow-up, but there’s no denying that it feels like a huge disappointment after years of waiting. Assuming Sidebar can solve the worst of the technical problems, it will We’d give Sports Story a slight recommendation for anyone looking for a quirky take on a sports RPG, but this one doesn’t deserve a spot at the top of your list.”
