about him The Nintendo Switch Subreddit There was also some talk about control settings, but others are happy to see the return of the iconic shooter:
BBQQA: “I’m still in awe of what happened. For YEARS my friends and I complained that we would never see this with a modern release, that it would be stuck in copyright hell. But somehow this happened. I don’t think the younger generation really understands the impact this game had, or how unlikely it is on Switch and Xbox. It’s crazy.”
Odie_Odie – “I still play Goldeneye on my N64 on a yearly or so basis, I play it for a few hours over the weekend before putting my system away again and I must say the controls aren’t that bad. It’s very similar to the original. I think a lot of people will He’s realizing they don’t like Goldeneye because of the controls. They’ve always been there, hahaha.”
MillwrightWF – “…Just a major millennial disclaimer here so 007 was a big part of growing up. First off I let my Fortnite obsessed son play it and after he completely destroyed me in Fortnite this it was more my style. He does the building and stuff, so that’s where he gets me. Haha, there’s no building in this game, son, and I knocked him out a few times. But once he put the controls down, he wanted to keep playing! Looks pretty good. Not the mess I expected. No slowdown from the original. Looking forward to more time tomorrow.”
And this is what happened to the community on our sister website pure xbox has been saying about the Xbox version of the game:
game Cube – “As a veteran of the original game of yesteryear, this version plays better than ever. The modern control scheme on Xbox drags you kicking and screaming into the present. I briefly tested the Switch version with the original control layout and it would clearly benefit from a actual N64 controller. The Xbox version played brilliantly with two thumb buttons.”
Bucky – “I played the campaign on Agent difficulty on Switch last night and this morning. I only tried a few levels on Xbox and thought it felt better on Switch, although it did require a little button remapping”
sugarskullm – “I love this, but I can’t deny that the nostalgia factor (and force) is strong with this one. It’s still fun after all these years.”
Techno92LFC – “There’s no doubt that I, along with other people, would have loved to see the Xbox Live Arcade version, so I don’t understand why we don’t have that one. Maybe someone here knows? It’s awesome to see this on, though. an Xbox console. and with updated controls.”
