Do you remember in 2006 when we got a Scarface game collection after The end of the classic 80’s gangster movie? It was an odd setup, but the end result was a little clumsy, but a little fun GTA-like an open world game. Apparently it worked well enough that a sequel began development, but it was never finished. However, new footage of that canceled Scarface sequel has surfaced online, giving us a good look at the follow-up that never was.
Newly released footage from this never-released sequel, which was known as scarface Empire, It’s courtesy of the Mafia Game Videos YouTube channel. the footage It shows an early build of the game, showing off the new Vegas setting, improved graphics, improved combat, and lots of swearing.
Mafia Game Videos footage demonstrates combat and driving, as well as a new mechanic called “revive”, which would have allowed Tony to survive encounters with random armed thugs. This could have functioned as a quick time event (QTE), allowing the player to recover on success or die on failure. The video also shows off a lot of supposed concept art for the never-released sequel.
On twitter, Mafia Game Videos shared more clips and screenshots of early construction. The channel also shared information about the engine that reportedly powers the game, explaining that it was using modified technology first seen in the open world. Helmet games developed by Radical Entertainment. That technology would also power the studio’s open world. Prototype games.

Rumors have swirled for a long time of a Scarface A sequel is in development, but this is the first footage of the game to appear since its untimely demise.
First Scarface The game’s idea that Tony Montana had somehow survived the big shootout at the end of the original movie was always a bit silly, and it definitely missed the point of the movie. But it also allows the developers at Radical Entertainment to create a new rags-to-riches story featuring the hot-headed gangster as he rebuilds his empire. And sure, in a lot of ways, the game was just a GTA Vice City clone, but to be fair, GTA Vice City is in many ways a Scarface clone. So it just seems fair. Also, the game ended up being a pretty fun open world crime adventure in the PS2 era. Sometimes big senseless shootouts and virtual drug dealing hit the spot, you know?
While that’s unlikely to happen, I’d love to see the first game get a remaster or modern re-release to make it easier to play in 2022. I’d rather play that than the remastered vice cityat least.
